Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! This week we have our first field trip! We are going to Sappington House on Thursday, October 10th. We plan to leave Sappington at 8:45 and return between 1:30-2:00. We will be bringing our lunches with us and eating outside in between tours and activities. It should be a great day for students. If you signed up to volunteer I will send you another message about specific plans for Thursday. Thanks again for joining us on this trip!
We also have McDonald's Night on Tuesday, at the Watson location. Bring your family and eat some McDonald's Tuesday night anytime between 4-8.
This week in math, we are continuing to learn strategies to solve multiplication and division problems. Check for anchor charts later!
In communication arts, we finished up predicting and are learning about making inferences. This can be a difficult skill for students as we are using the authors words to think beyond the text. We will be working on this skill as a class for awhile to ensure student understanding. In writing we are continuing to work on realistic fiction. We are beginning to plan out our stories using story arcs to show rising and falling action. Then, we will begin drafting and revising our writing through writing small scenes. Spelling words will be coming home with your child this week. We will have our test over them on Friday, October 25th.
