This week in curriculum:
This week in math, students will learn how to multiply two digits by two digits, such as 24 x 36. This is a hard skill for students to learn because it requires students to understand not only their math facts, but also to follow multiple steps with organization. We will teach them multiple ways to solve problems such as these, to help them with their understanding, as well as how to estimate to check. Our quiz will not be until the following week.
In English Language Arts, we are continuing to learn about Figurative Language. This will be our final week on this skill. We will be focusing on Personification this week, as well as putting it all together. We will also continue to learn about close reading and using R.A.P.P with constructed response questions. Book Projects are due Monday, February 24th.
In writing we are continuing to learn about writing Historical Informational books. We are finishing up Chapter 2 today, all about a focused topic, such as the Boston Tea Party. We will begin learning to write Chapter 3 tomorrow, focusing on writing a historical fiction account of a small, important moment. We will continue our pause on writer's notebooks, due to the need to research for homework.
Spelling tic tac toes, are not due until next Friday, February 21st.
Have a great week! It should be a really fun one!!!
As always, please let me know any questions or concerns you have!
