Extra credit opportunity:
Write a second post about our read aloud book. Write five sentences on a summary of the book so far, predictions you have, and what you liked or did not like about Number the Stars. (5 extra credit points)
Example:
I recently read the book All About Sam. This book is about a young boys life named Sam. Sam tries to figure out what Phrases mean after his parents say them. Sam likes to over think the Phrases and doesn’t understand them. For example, “the terrible twos”, he thinks he can see the terrible twos. Sam has told us his life, through his eyes, since he was born. This is an exciting fiction book that follows Sam through his experiences growing up.
I liked this book for many reasons. This book is really funny and I liked that it was from a boy’s point of view. The characters are relatable and likeable. Sam reminded me of my own brother, so I was always making connections between Sam’s funny actions and my own brother’s goofiness. This book kept me laughing and it never got boring.
You should all read this book. If you like funny books, you will love this book. Also, Lois Lowry is the author and she writes a lot of good books. If you liked any of her books, like Number the Stars, you will probably like this book. If you are an older sibling, you will like this book because it talks about how crazy little siblings can be. I really enjoyed this book and I think you all will too!
Example reply to a post:
You gave a great recommendation. I liked how you talked about how older siblings should read this because I have a little brother! I was wondering how old Sam is in the book and if it is relatable to a fourth grader?

We are going to be completing this project on Edmodo. I will be teaching students how to navigate this website this afternoon. They can work on this project at home or at school. There is a 5 point extra credit project listed on the site as well that students can complete.
Progress Reports are coming home on Friday.
School Store is this Thursday.
This Sunday we have our Music Performance at Lindbergh High School's Auditorium at 4:00 p.m. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the show! I hope to see you all there!
We have bowls, spoons, chocolate syrup, oreo crumbles, marshmallow cream, and strawberry syrup for our ice cream sundae. Thank you for all of your donations! I can't wait to celebrate all of our students' hard work!
