Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a Happy Mother's Day! It was a beautiful weekend!
This week in curriculum:
This week in math we are continuing our work with Decimals. We are learning to compare and order them today, and reviewing all we have learned so far tomorrow. Look for anchor charts later today! On Wednesday we will take a quiz over being able to read, write, write decimals as a fraction, equivalent decimals, and comparing and ordering decimals. The study guide will be coming home tonight and will be due on Wednesday. Then we will learn how to add and subtract decimals, round decimals, and work with decimals and money.
This week in English Language Arts, we are continuing to work on our Fractured Fairy Tale Plays. We will be learning what it means to be fluent readers, and deciding what props and actions will enhance our reading. Our book recommendation projects are due one week from today on Edmodo.com. Please let me know any questions you have regarding this project! In writing we are going to be writing our thesis statements for our literary essays. We will then be learning how to support our thesis using reasons, evidence, stories, and learning how to cite our story. It is a C-week for writer's notebooks. I will be collecting C week notebooks on Thursday of this week with 10 entries.
